So you have Tsch and OFC clearly the best best 05 teams!! So is Blitz 05 better than Norman or just opposite?

State Cup will give you all your answers. I would probably put Norman above Blitz based on the small sampling I have seen of each. Not sure how all the other coaches and clubs look at 11 year old soccer, but our coaches only coach to win at the State Cup. All of this league play is practice to them. So when teams are running specialized defenses with shadow defenders, our coaches make zero adjustments in the reg season. In the State Cup, this will change. I would hope that all coaches have that same philosophy but I am afraid some do not.

Does anyone know what happens in the spring? Is everyone put back into the same league again or do they make 2 leagues? I have never heard what the spring will look like... Does TSC stick around or do they go off and do their ECNL stuff?

OFC White is at 20 pts with one more game vs NEOFC Blue
Cosmos is at 18 pts with one more game vs Blitz

Blitz is at 16 pts but they have 4 games left.
TSC Melton is mathematically out of it.

I think going into the season, most would be shocked that OFC would have 2 of the top 5 teams. But we still can't ECNL or DA status. I'm not bitter or anything...lol

Neverplayed, did you see that Blitz 05 beat Celtic twice this past weekend? 2-1 and 3-1 in the final.

Lovefutbol,

No, I did not see that. I guess I was just impressed with Celtic beating Beatie. I think we will all be in the gold in the Spring so time will tell. How will the spring work? does everyone play a home and an away? Playing Tulsa teams in Tulsa are always tough. It would be nice to get them to come to OKC early on a Sat morning...

Lovefutbol, why be impressed with the wins over Celtic at OSA Classic when Blitz 05 brought in a forward not on their OPL team roster but playing up with the 04's who scored some of their goals.

Got to give props to Celtic 05 for playing a solid game against Beattie 05 in Fall OPL and deserved their win. We look forward to meeting your team again.

You are correct Blitz 05 had a guest player that came in due to illness and an injury. She played awesome and trully enjoyed having her. You are not correct about scoring all the goals. But I can see how that would be a common perception. Blitz has a great defense and great forwards without guest players. In any case, fun to watch many competitive 05 teams and looking forward to more great soccer.

The guest player was an 05 though so I don't see why it really matters. She didn't score all their goals. At this point I do not believe that Beattie 05 will be playing OPL in the spring. That could change though so don't quote me on it. This age group has solid teams in it. No one is overly dominant. Will make for some fun years.

TSC010405, always enjoy reading your comments. It shows you love soccer and care for the development of all kids in Oklahoma, regardless of club or geographic location. You are a good ambassador of your club and the sport.

Sadly, it has taken me many years to realize that these are kids playing who just love the game and want to play and get better. The parents seem to be the ones who ruin it and make it into some kind of World Cup every game. I have commented about other peoples children on my own teams before so I'm not innocent at all. How stupid is that. Much regret on that one.

Sorry, didn't see the game just heard about the 05 playing up as forward and scoring a few goals did not literally mean every goal scored was hers alone

OFC 05

2-0 over TSC Melton in Edmond in 40 degree weather. Excellent effort from both teams tonight!

TSC10405, I was afraid that Beatie wasn't going to stick around in the Spring. The same thing happened last year when we split with them in the Fall then never got to play them in the Spring or State Cup. I know they are doing ECNL stuff and going back and forth between 11v11 and 9v9 is just ridiculous if you ask me. That is too much to ask of 11 year old girls. I don't blame them for playing 11v11, I'm jealous really. I can't wait to get back to 11v11.

So true NeverPlayedSoccer. Dropping back to 9v9 and switching back to 11v11 for JR ECNL has been so frustrating for the girls. They prefer 11v11 much more. Other than their game against OFC, where they seemed energized and ready to play, they just don't seem to care about their 9v9 games.

We are playing up this weekend just to avoid playing 9v9 and their interest and quality of play is completely different. They beat 04 Fort Smith 5-0 and looked like a completely different team.

I've heard that we are only going to play JR ECNL next season and I'm excited about that. Love playing Oklahoma teams but really hate 9v9. Our next JR ECNL event is the Texas Cup over thanksgiving - http://www.texascupsoccer.com.

BTW, I heard several 04, 05 and 06 players from your side of the state are coming to the ETC identification event in Tulsa - http://www.tschurricane.com/developmentmodel/829462.html?1477422476. Do you know if anyone on your team is coming?

Re: Fall 2016 Scores

9v9 is a great choice for 98% to 99% of teams at this age. I think for teams like Beatie and OFC it was a setback almost a waste of a year since both teams were playing 11v11 the year before. I can tell you our girls were in much better shape last year playing real soccer. This small ball and small field is actually worse for their fitness. Fitness is a huge factor of real soccer. 9v9 handcuffs teams that actually have speed and endurance. I get it, they want more and better quality touches, but for teams like ours, it is a horrible blanket statement.

What is the deal with ECNL? Why can't OFC get in? What is keeping us on the outside? Especially now with the DA forming I thought the ECNL would open it up a little to clubs like OFC. I also don't understand why they do that at a club level instead of team level. We all know some ages are stronger than others within a club. Why hurt that team and make them play inferior talent when they are good enough to compete with ECNL teams? I just don't get it.

We thought about it, but not going to this year. We are waiting until there will be zero switching back and forth between 9v9 and 11v11. Also playing basketball and ODP. I'm actually excited to see ODP this year with Hampton coaching. I think Oklahoma can go make some noise down in College Station. I think all of our girls except one showed up for ODP here in OKC. Haven't heard how the Tulsa practice/tryout went.
