Most dominant academy team

Post by longball on Mon Oct 13, 2014 2:27 am

Who was the most dominant girls academy team over the last 5 to 7 years?

I will go with 03 Amos. I cannot remember a loss to an OK 03 team during their academy years (Texans and TSC). They had the most dominant run of any academy team over the last several years and were considered the top 03 team in the state by 99% of the voting population. The 01s, 02s, 04s and 05s all had or have lots of debate on the top 5 and I do not know much about the 00s and older.

Agree. & they have never lost, to my knowledge, to an OK girls team their own age.

That is what differentiates them from 04 TSC Kitterman or other teams.

99 blitz white girls or 2000 nokc girls, didn't amos 03 play up ALOT. If you always played up that lessons your chance of having a bad game in your age group (catch 22). I know they didn't go undefeated playing up, but still a very good team. What about boys?

Agree 99 Blitz girls were about as dominant as it got....no argument with 03 Amos as well.

On boys side.... Umelos 04 team at Blitz was rarely tested in their age group (Did Crouch's TSC team ever beat them) although I think that will change now that OFC has formed (although looks like a pretty convincing win already in OPL).

NOKC 05 had a very dominant run while playing up in spots. I think this year is the first time they have ever lost to an in state team 04 or 05. Blitz 05 seems to beat everyone pretty handily not named NOKC.

Lots of parity in the 03 and 06 age groups. Some good teams here just no clear cut domination etc... Not as familiar with much past the 02s on the boys side.

Only one from recent memory for boys that comes to mind would NOKC 05 boys. I can't think of another age group that you knew was going to win each tournament they were entered. It would just be by how many. Blitz 99 girls were like that also.

I want to say that 04 blitz and TSC went back and forth on wins before he came over to TSC.

I'd also vote for Amos 03. Kepley's 06s were pretty good too, before that shakeup. Intrigued to see how the True Age shift affects the usual power brokers. The 07s, 08s, and 09s are already being sorted. The TSCH Girls teams should be loaded in those age groups.

Just want to throw this out there cause I'm being asked (due to his precise name), this isn't me or my account Cool name though, and I know there's more than one of us with an 05 gk, just wanted to dispel that before you get me in trouble.

I think Amos had the top 2 Academy teams back in that time frame. They were special.
